Metropolis is seeking a Risk Management Intern to help elevate risk acumen by generating loss models and analyses. The role emphasizes data interpretation, KPI reporting, and collaboration with the Insurance and Safety teams.

The internship runs 12 weeks in our downtown Chicago office with a hybrid schedule, starting in summer 2027. The base hourly pay is $22.00, with compensation varying by experience and location, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong academic performance; GPA around 3.0 or higher.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance or related field.
• Driven with the ambition to learn corporate risk management.
• Experience working with data, interpreting results, and making recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to transform static workflows.
• Ability to work in downtown Chicago Office for 12 weeks, hybrid model.

Responsabilités

• Generate and reconcile key metrics and provide analysis for the department.
• Participate in strategy meetings and prepare data for annual policy renewals.
• Review and monitor insurance documentation; communicate information to internal/external parties.
• Assist Safety in creating and distributing loss control material to stakeholders.
• Analyze risk management data and provide value-add recommendations.
• Prepare informative reports defining and analyzing KPIs.
• Gain exposure to property, casualty, and management liability insurance markets.
• Shadow roles such as Broker, Actuary, Claims Administrator, and Underwriter.
