Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis seeks a Director of Risk Management to lead loss prevention and patient safety programs across the facility and campus. You will coordinate investigations, evaluate root causes, and drive corrective actions in partnership with medical staff and administration.

The role requires significant clinical/management experience and professional certifications in risk management or patient safety.

Qualifications

• Five (5) to seven (7) years of clinical and/or management experience.
• Current licensure/registration in a relevant area (e.g., RN, RHIA).
• Certification in Healthcare Risk Management, Quality Management and/or Patient Safety is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participates in loss prevention and patient safety initiatives for the facility and campus.
• Coordinates investigations of potential claims and lawsuits with evidence collection and root cause analysis.
• Reviews unusual occurrence reports and recommends corrective actions with leadership.
• Trends incidents and exposures and suggests actions in collaboration with Risk Management.
• Represents risk management on committees and provides leadership and guidance on operations.
• Coordinates responses to discovery devices in lawsuits and engages in professional activities.
