Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Risk Management Director to join our partner medical center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This crucial role involves overseeing the hospital's risk management program and ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Lead the Way in Risk Management and Patient Safety

As Risk Management Director, you will play a vital role in protecting patients, staff, and the organization by proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks. You will lead investigations, conduct risk assessments, and implement strategies to enhance safety and minimize adverse events.

Responsibilities :
  • Oversee Claim Management: Lead the investigation, analysis, and resolution of patient safety incidents and claims.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Proactively identify and evaluate risks associated with new services, procedures, and equipment.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis: Facilitate root cause analysis for adverse events, identifying contributing factors and developing corrective action plans.
  • Manage Patient Safety Council: Oversee the Patient Safety Council and integrate the corporate TERM program into the risk management strategy.
  • Collaborate: Work with department directors and the executive team to implement risk reduction strategies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data to identify trends, assess risks, and inform decision-making.
  • Education & Leadership: Provide education and training on risk management and patient safety to staff.
Qualifications :
  • Education : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is required. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience : Two (2) to five (5) years of Risk Management experience. Acute care experience and a minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience are preferred.
  • License / Certification : Current RN license in Nevada if a Registered Nurse. Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) is preferred.
Skills and Attributes :
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate effectively to clinical personnel, medical staff, and the public.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and hospital software programs.
  • Deep understanding of risk management principles, quality improvement methodologies (RCA, FMEA), and regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards and CMS regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data.
  • Six Sigma ("Lean") knowledge is a plus.
