JOB SUMMARY:

The Risk Management Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Regulatory Compliance Department in investigating suspicious activity related to student applications for admission and financial aid, academic integrity issues, and preventing dishonesty and potential fraud while strengthening internal controls.

Post University offers remote work for this position. Candidates must connect their equipment to their home router (a 50-foot ethernet cable provided by Post). No wireless connections are supported. The home internet must meet minimum requirements: 25 Mb download speed and 15 Mb upload speed, with the upload speed ensuring a stable audio connection for the phone system. When working remotely, the home network must meet these standards, and candidates must have a reliable internet connection and a designated, private workspace free from noise or distractions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Effective communication across organizational levels
  • Basic understanding of federal student aid processes, government policies, regulations, and laws
  • Basic knowledge of Admissions, Registrar, Advising, Academics, and Student Accounts functions
  • Conduct independent, impartial reviews of data and systems
  • Handle sensitive situations with discretion and impartiality

DUTIES:

  • Analyze data on suspicious student activity related to admissions, financial aid, and academic activities
  • Evaluate data to detect control weaknesses, fraud, or non-compliance
  • Collaborate with IT security to develop detection resources
  • Assess business risks, recommend solutions, and advise management
  • Review system vulnerabilities related to student applications and academic integrity
  • Coordinate with departments to develop corrective actions and ensure implementation
  • Summarize and communicate audit results in reports
  • Maintain case files and documentation
  • Assist external partners with documentation collection
  • Review external complaints and internal referrals, analyzing student records for indicators of suspicious activity
  • Review internal controls such as IP addresses, contact info, and document references
  • Follow policies and participate in training for fraud detection and compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience may suffice
  • 3-5 years’ experience in performance, compliance, information systems, operations, financial, or risk audits
  • Experience in higher education, audit, IT, or security controls preferred
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet applications, database software, and fraud prevention tools
  • Discretion in handling confidential information
  • Self-motivated with multi-tasking ability
