Recruitment Consultant for Zurich North America

Zurich is seeking a Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer. The qualified individual must reside within Southern California, preferably Bakersfield or San Bernardino area. This is a field role with approximately 25% overnight travel. It is a work-from-home role and includes a company car.

As a Machinery Breakdown Risk Engineer, you are responsible for:

• Providing jurisdictional inspections and machinery breakdown risk assessment services for customers and business partners.
• Providing intermediate machinery breakdown consultative services, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigating cause/effect of major losses, and hazard/machinery breakdown management programs.
• Providing basic training for customers, service design and coordination, marketing, and loss investigations.

Final candidates will be subject to a Motor Vehicle record background check, as this position includes a company car.

The role will be filled at the Risk Engineering Representative or Risk Engineering Consultant level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based on the applicant’s experience and skills.

Basic Qualifications:

Risk Engineering Representative:

• Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience in Boiler and Machinery in Risk Engineering and Safety OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of experience in Boiler and Machinery in Risk Engineering and Safety.

Risk Engineering Consultant:

• Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of experience in Boiler and Machinery in Risk Engineering OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Boiler and Machinery in Risk Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the boiler and machinery industry segment.
• Experience in risk assessment based on Machinery Breakdown standards.
• National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Commission Card.
• Navy Nuclear School.
• Insurance industry experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Teamwork experience.
