Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking a technically proficient risk control professional for the East Shared Services region. The role emphasizes onsite evaluations, risk assessment, and client advisory services for dealerships, construction, manufacturing, and real estate sectors.

Travel across NC/VA with a strong home-office component is expected. The candidate will develop safety programs, train on-site staff, and support underwriting with in-depth risk insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in safety or related field preferred.
• 1–5 years in insurance safety consulting or safety work in private industry.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI and DOT regulations.
• Ability to travel 50% including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite facility evaluations to control exposures and plan maintenance.
• Assess facility protections (fire suppression, alarm systems) for occupancy and hazards.
• Prepare detailed reports for Property, Liability, Auto, and Workers’ Comp lines.
• Help develop safety policies and programs for each account.
• Provide advanced risk management and consultative services to clients.
• Perform job-site safety inspections and OSHA 10-hour seminars.
• Maintain expertise in property, liability, fleet, and employee safety.
• Develop and deliver safety seminars and training programs for accounts.
• Create service proposals and plans for qualified accounts.
