Job summary

Grant Thornton (US) in Boston is seeking a Risk Advisory Intern to work on client engagements, performing assessment of processes, controls, and risk programs. You will support SOX and regulatory compliance efforts, analyze data, and apply analytics and AI tools to deliver value.

A hybrid schedule is offered with in-person work at least three days per week. You will gain exposure across industries, develop analytical and presentation skills, and contribute to proposals and business development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, MIS or related field.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• CPA, PMP, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CAMS, CISM or other relevant license/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand, document, and assess client operations, processes, systems, controls, and programs, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with risk assessments to inform enterprise, operational and third‑party risk management projects and internal audit plans.
• Assess transactions, processes, systems, and controls to support SOX and regulatory compliance.
• Obtain and analyze data, identify trends, and visualize results using analytics solutions.
• Leverage analytics, automation, AI, and other tech to drive project objectives and client service.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with team members and clients.
• Collaborate to understand project approach, manage risks, and improve processes and controls.
• Understand industry trends and client objectives applicable to assigned projects.
• Assist with business development, including research and proposals.
