Job summary

Grant Thornton is seeking a Risk Advisory Intern in the Orange County, CA area. You will work on client engagements to assess IT and business processes, implement risk management and compliance programs, and execute internal audit plans.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and delivering high-quality services under supervision. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, IT, or related field, a 3.0 GPA, and willingness to travel at least 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, MIS or related field.
• GPA minimum of 3.0/4.0.
• Available to travel at least 25%.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Understand, document, and assess client operations, processes, systems, controls, and programs; identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with risk assessments for enterprise, operational and third-party risk management projects, programs and internal audit plans.
• Assess transactions, processes, systems, and controls to support SOX and regulatory compliance and internal audit projects.
• Obtain and analyze data; identify trends; visualize results using analytics solutions.
• Leverage analytics, automation, AI, and other tech to drive project objectives and client service efficiency.
• Establish and maintain relationships with team members and clients at all levels.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to understand project approach; identify and manage risks; recommend improvements.
• Understand industry trends and business objectives applicable to client projects.
• Assist with business development activities including research and proposals.
• Participate in Firm activities such as recruiting, training, and office-wide events.
• Other duties as assigned.
