Job summary

Grant Thornton (US) is seeking a Risk Advisory Intern in Michigan to gain exposure to client engagements across internal controls, IT risk, and enterprise risk management. You will assist with risk assessments, data analysis, and support internal audit activities.

The role requires pursuing accounting, IT, or related degree, traveling up to 25%, strong analytical and communication skills, and willingness to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, MIS or related field.
• Desire to pursue CPA, PMP, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CAMS, CISM, or other relevant license/certification preferred.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Available to travel at least 25% as required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Understand, document, and assess client operations, processes, systems, controls, and programs; identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with risk assessments to inform enterprise, operational, and third-party risk management projects.
• Assess transactions, processes, systems, and controls to support SOX and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Obtain and analyze data, identify trends, and visualize results using analytics tools.
• Leverage analytics, automation, AI, and other tech to drive project objectives and client service.
• Establish and maintain relationships with team members and clients at all levels.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to manage risks and improve processes and controls.
• Gain understanding of industry trends and client objectives relevant to projects.
• Assist with business development, proposals, and other activities as appropriate.
• Participate in firm activities such as recruiting, training, and office events.
