Job summary

Grant Thornton LLP in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Risk Advisory Intern to join client engagements across assurance and advisory services. You will assess business and IT processes, document controls, and help identify opportunities for improvement while supporting risk assessments and internal audits.

As an intern, you will work under supervision on projects, leverage analytics and data-enabled methods, and collaborate with team members and clients to deliver high-quality Risk Advisory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, MIS or related field.
• Desire to pursue CPA, PMP, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CAMS, CISM, or other relevant license/certification preferred.
• Overall GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Available to travel at least 25% as required.
• Ability to work additional hours as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Understand, document, and assess client operations, processes, systems, controls, and programs, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with risk assessments to inform enterprise, operational and third-party risk management projects and internal audit plans.
• Assess transactions, processes, systems, and controls to support SOX and regulatory compliance.
• Obtain and analyze data, identify trends, and visualize results using analytics tools.
• Leverage analytics, automation, AI, and technology to advance project objectives and client service efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to execute project responsibilities and improve processes and controls.
• Understand industry trends, business objectives, operations, processes, and systems relevant to client projects.
• Assist with business development activities including research and proposals.
