Job summary

Grant Thornton invites applications for a Risk Advisory Intern role in our Cleveland, OH office. You will work on assessing client operations, documenting controls, and executing risk programs under supervision.

You will analyze data, apply analytics and AI tools, and collaborate with clients and teams to improve processes and compliance. A CPA or related certifications are encouraged, with travel up to 25% and hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, MIS or related field.
• Pursuit of CPA, PMP, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CAMS, CISM or similar license preferred.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Available to travel at least 25%.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Understand, document, and assess client operations, processes, systems, controls, and programs, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with risk assessments to inform enterprise, operational, and third‑party risk management projects.
• Assess transactions, processes, systems, and controls to support SOX and regulatory compliance and internal audits.
• Obtain and analyze data, identify trends, and visualize results using analytics solutions.
• Leverage analytics, automation, AI, and other tech to drive project throughput and client service.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with team members and clients at all levels.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to understand project approach, manage risks, and recommend improvements.
• Understand industry trends, business objectives, operations, and systems applicable to projects.
• Assist with business development activities, including research and proposals.
• Participate in Firm activities such as recruiting and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
