What We’re Looking For

The Risk Advisor is responsible for new insurance account production and sales activities within assigned accounts. The individual conducts market research, develops a business base to educate, promote, and sell insurance services, and maintains a profitable book of insurance business for existing clients. The Risk Advisor projects a professional image through all interactions with clients, carriers, and colleagues.

What You'll Be Doing
  1. Achieves annual new revenue objectives through consultative sales to new clients and expansion of service lines to existing clients.
  2. Exhibits thought leadership & industry engagement through associations, speaking panels, and demonstrating expertise in industry vertical(s).
  3. Develops annual, individual sales plan (ISP) with a pipeline coverage ratio of 5X or aligned with current metrics to meet goals.
  4. Builds an active pipeline of qualified prospects, generating leads from personal contacts, referrals, campaigns, and marketing sources.
  5. Documents new business activity in sales tracking system.
  6. Closes new business, documenting opportunities and reasons for client decisions.
  7. Develops and presents recommendations based on consultative selling.
  8. Assesses risk issues, needs, and insurable exposures for clients.
  9. Recommends and assists with technical services including loss control and claims advocacy.
  10. Transitions sold clients to the client service team.
  11. Builds strategic relationships with key client decision makers.
  12. Provides market trends, competitor analysis, and business intelligence input to leadership.
  13. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
What You Need To Bring To The Table
  • Property and Casualty Insurance License (must be maintained).
  • College degree or minimum 2 years’ sales experience in insurance preferred.
  • Experience with complex commercial coverage.
  • Strong negotiator and problem solver, works well with diverse personalities.
  • In-depth understanding of insurance markets, products, rating, and underwriting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Ability to learn new software.

The salary range is $100,000 - $250,000, based on skills, experience, and location. Compensation decisions are case-dependent. A discretionary annual incentive may also be available.
