Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Risk Adjustment Provider Educator to deliver education to providers and staff, interpret risk adjustment data, and guide improvement opportunities in coding and documentation. The role involves analytics, audits, and training sessions across the Durham and Raleigh areas with a full-time, hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in training program design and development.
• 2+ years of experience in risk adjustment and ICD-10 coding in Medicare risk adjustment environment.
• Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) or similar.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of HCC Risk Adjustment models.
• Proven ability to analyze data, present results through provider education, and monitor effectiveness of education provided.
• Strong communication skills.
• Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Advanced formulas) and data visualization.
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM diagnostic coding.
• Excellent time management, organized, self-motivated.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative; tact; poise; neat appearance; and ability to prioritize deadlines.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Transforms raw data into actionable intelligence to prioritize provider education and risk adjustment initiatives.
• Analyzes data, reports, and provides data insights.
• Identifies documentation and coding improvement opportunities and guides best practices in risk adjustment.
• Analyzes provider coding patterns and follows up post-education to track improvements.
• Applies coding policies and guidelines to provider documentation review process.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and stays current on guideline changes.
• Works effectively within a team and adapts to shifting priorities.
• Ensures confidentiality of patient records and HIPAA compliance.
• Builds relationships with clinical and clerical teams for open communication about risk adjustment.
• Delivers excellent guest service to internal teams and patients.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
