Job description

Yuvo works to increase access to primary care by supporting federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), the institutions that have dedicated the most to care for underserved communities. We work with FQHCs to help scale the quality of care they provide by providing access to new payment systems, developing and optimizing operational infrastructure, and convening partnerships in the broader care ecosystem so that they can increase their capacity and deliver the highest quality of care to their communities.

About The Role

We are hiring a Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist to join our Risk Adjustment Team. You will bring your experience as a subject matter expert in all things related to risk adjustment documentation, coding, and process. Reporting to the Director of Risk Adjustment, you will be responsible for implementing processes that allow for optimization of Provider documentation and coding capture through identified best practices.

This is a remote position for employees with required availability daily from 10:00am to 3:00pm EST and periodic travel to FQHC’s clinics located throughout the New York market as required by business needs.

What You'll Do
  • Build rapport with assigned Providers and staff quickly to enhance reception of information
  • Review and analyze Provider documentation, with an eye toward compliance using all applicable Risk Adjustment guidelines to identify educational opportunities
  • Curate a plan of action for each assigned Provider to address discrepancies or inadequacies identified in documentation
  • Provide in depth education to Providers and staff on risk adjustment processes
  • Educate support staff on chart prep prior to scheduled office visits
  • Utilize various tools/reports to assess Provider documentation and coding performance, further curating a plan of action as deemed appropriate
  • Maintain and improve knowledge of current coding guidelines for application to risk adjustment documentation and coding review/education
  • Demonstrate and support strong collaboration skills and alignment internally and externally
  • Identify EHR optimization opportunities, working with Providers and staff to implement agreed upon improvements/work flows
  • Analyze reports to determine effectiveness of the coding work and to strategize and prioritize work.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to streamline discussions on progress, barriers, etc.
  • Participate in inter-rater reliability quarterly audits to ensure maintenance of coding excellence with > 95% passing rate
  • Complies with corporate policies and procedures
  • Travel as required by business needs
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required by the Company.
What You'll Bring
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and/or Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) from the American Academy of Professional Coders
  • Three years minimum coding experience with at least 2 years of ICD-10 HCC Coding and Documentation focus
  • Experience providing direct training and education to clinical support staff and Providers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Experience with multiple electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with medical staff, peers, and internal staff at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment when arriving at conclusions
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate

Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000/year
