Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Early Career Structural Engineer to join the Irvine, CA office. You will work with our structural engineering team on challenging projects and gain advanced training in structural design and digital design technology.

The role involves performing structural design for new and existing buildings, analyzing various materials, and using 2D/3D tools to document work. A bachelor’s degree in structural/civil engineering and up to one year of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 0–1 year of relevant post-education experience.
• Strong research skills with analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design of new and restored buildings across the United States.
• Analyze and design superstructures and foundations in timber, concrete, steel, and masonry.
• Utilize latest technology and digital tools for design.
• Assist with basic professional structural engineering tasks, including site condition assessments to ensure conformance with rules and permits.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and operating strategies for safety and functionality.
• Verify site characteristics and structural soundness under loads and environmental factors.
• Generate complete, accurate documentation using drawings, 2D/3D illustrations, and logs.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and site-specific procedures.
