Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. in New York, NY seeks a Marine Structural Engineer-in-Training for Summer 2027 start. You will join the Marine/Coastal team to investigate, design, and develop waterfront structures while gaining hands-on experience.

Ideal candidates have a ABET-accredited engineering degree, 0–2 years of experience, and are pursuing or able to obtain an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification within a year. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of engineering experience.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• Experience with design software MicroStation, AutoCAD or Revit.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Performs investigations, surveys, and the design of waterfront structures.
• Preparation of specifications and waterfront investigations, report preparation, and related activities.
• Collaborates with internal and external partners on multidisciplinary design/engineering projects.
• Coordinates the work of Engineers and others who may assist on specific assignments.
• Reviews input from Project or Technical Managers and makes necessary adjustments.
• Performs work in a timely manner within assigned schedules and budgets.
• Develops construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel structures.
• Field experience and collaboration with clients, contractors, and other disciplines is preferred.
