Job summary

Rose Hills is seeking a Registered Apprentice Embalmer to perform embalming, preparation, and handling of remains for viewing and final disposition. The role requires professionalism in communications, strict adherence to safety and attendance policies, and collaboration with staff and third-party teams.

The position involves dressing, cosmesis, casketing, and removals from death scenes, while maintaining a compliant work environment and advancing the company mission and standards.

Qualifications

• Must become registered as apprentice embalmer and licensed by the State of California.
• Graduate of Cypress College Mortuary Science Program preferred.
• Must possess a valid California Driver’s License.
• Documentation of HBV vaccination or willing to take HBV vaccination.
• Commitment to open communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Embalm human remains following mortuary standard preservation.
• Answer heavy phone traffic professionally.
• Prepare human remains for viewing, burial and other final disposition.
• Dress, cosmetize and casket human remains.
• Perform removals from places of death and maintain clean work environment.
