Job summary

Rose Hills seeks an Apprentice Embalmer to assist with embalming and preparing remains for viewing and burial. You will handle heavy phone traffic, dress and cosmetize bodies, and help with removals while upholding safety and company policies.

Qualifications include eligibility to register as an apprentice embalmer in California, a Cypress College Mortuary Science background preferred, and a valid CA driver’s license. HBV vaccination or consent is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to become registered as an apprentice embalmer and licensed in California.
• Graduate of Cypress College Mortuary Science preferred.
• Valid California Driver’s License required.
• HBV vaccination record or willingness to vaccinate.

Responsibilities

• Embalm human remains following state standards.
• Answer high-volume phone calls professionally.
• Prepare remains for viewing, burial, and final disposition.
• Dress, cosmetize, and casket remains for families.
• Assist with removals from places of death and related tasks.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and follow policies.
