Job summary

Jefferson Lab in Newport News, VA is seeking an Assistant Construction and Renovation Project Manager to support conventional facilities capital projects. The role focuses on daily management, coordination, and successful project completion within time and cost objectives while upholding safety, quality and scheduling standards.

The successful candidate will help manage scope, schedule, and budget for small capital projects and leverage tools like Primavera and EVMS.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience managing complex design and construction projects.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field.
Experience with DOE project management system requirements is preferred.
Experience with EVMS is preferred.
Proficiency in Primavera scheduling software (or equivalent).
OSHA 10 Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support conventional facilities capital project managers with daily management and coordination.
Ensure projects meet time, cost, safety, quality, and scheduling objectives.
Document objectives, requirements and key performance parameters with stakeholders.
Monitor cost estimation, updates, change control and contingency draw-down.
Oversee safety, environmental controls and adherence to EH&S requirements.
Coordinate design, construction implementation and startup on projects.
