Job summary

Cherokee Town and Country Club in the Atlanta metro area seeks a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. You will supervise a large seasonal crew, monitor course conditions, and help implement the master plan’s improvements under experienced leadership.

The role requires a strong work ethic, teamwork, and the ability to communicate with members and staff, including basic Spanish, with a path for advancement within the industry.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of golf course maintenance experience.
• Ability to obtain a Georgia pesticide license within six months of employment.
• Honest, trustworthy, hardworking, innovative and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and train a large crew of employees.
• Observe course conditions and recommend improvements.
• Enforce safe work practices across daily operations.
• Provide safety training to staff as directed.
• Apply fertilizers and plant protectants; calibrate equipment.
• Record fertilizer and chemical applications accurately.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations.
• Manage irrigation scheduling and basic repairs.
