Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Special Education RISE Teacher for the Southeast College Prep campus. The role focuses on delivering high-expectation instruction to students with diverse disabilities, developing and implementing IEPs, and collaborating with families to support student success.

Responsibilities include adapting lessons, coordinating related services, tracking progress, and engaging in weekly communications with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
• Experience in a Special Education classroom setting with students who have significant disabilities (strongly preferred)
• Texas state certification in Special Education (required); appropriate grade and subject band core content certification(s) or Texas Core Content Competency Worksheet (required)

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of students
• Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
• Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans
• Collect and analyze student data to maximize achievement
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly
• Host tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays as needed
