Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Special Education RISE teacher to serve students with a wide range of disabilities, delivering instruction across core subjects and adaptive PE. The role emphasizes collaboration with families, development of IEPs, and ensuring high achievement expectations in a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• Texas state certification in Special Education and core content areas required.
• Experience in a Special Education classroom with students who have significant disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students and develop IEPs.
• Coordinate related services for students on caseload.
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of students.
• Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track progress.
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect progress and goals.
• Communicate students’ progress with parents and staff.
