Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools is seeking a Special Education Class 3B Education Assistant for the RISE program at Robbinsdale Cooper High School in the Minneapolis area. This seven-hour position includes 6.5 hours of paid work time and 30 minutes of unpaid lunch, paid at $24.75 per hour, plus benefits.

The role provides instructional support for students with disabilities, clerical assistance to teachers, crisis support, and general classroom help while maintaining confidentiality and strong

Qualifications

• At least two years of college credits (60 credits MN) or higher degree.
• Passing score on ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment.
• Experience with students with cognitive/disabilities and behavior challenges.
• Proficient with word processing, filing and basic computer tasks.
• Patient, calm, confidential and reliable demeanor.
• Able to attend work regularly and on time.
• Able to assist students with classroom assignments.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing supervision and instruction to students with disabilities.
• Provides clerical and organizational support to special education teachers as needed.
• Works with individuals and/or small groups when activities and assignments are presented by mainstream teachers and/or special education teachers.
• Provides support for students in crisis.
• Willingness to lift, carry and physically manage as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by teacher or principal.
