Qualifications

• Two years of college credits (usually 60 credits in MN) or an associate's degree or passing score on the ParaPro/Paraeducator Assessment.
• Experience working with students who have cognitive disabilities and/or behavioral challenges is preferred.
• Ability to process documents and use basic computer tools with discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing supervision and instruction to students with disabilities.
• Provides clerical and organizational support to special education teachers as needed.
• Works with individuals or small groups during activities and assignments led by teachers.
• Provides support for students in crisis.
• Ability to lift, carry and physically assist as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by teacher or principal.
