Job summary

SiFive, Inc. is seeking a Language and Front End Design Engineer within the Platform Engineering Technologies team to architect, build, and maintain advanced tooling for SoC design.

You will design domain-specific languages for hardware design using Scala and Python while contributing to open source projects such as Chisel and CIRCT. You will collaborate with MLIR/C++ stacks, help teach engineers, and craft documentation and tutorials to empower hardware designers and verification engineers

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in CS/EE/CE or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with object oriented and functional programming languages.
• Experience in Scala highly desirable.
• Ability to communicate and teach others both inside and outside the company.
• Exposure to hardware design, verification, or implementation techniques is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance embedded DSLs in Scala and Python, with build tooling for hardware industry professionals.
• Solicit and respond to user requests and feedback to improve tooling.
• Write documentation, tutorials and train hardware designers and verification engineers.
• Collaborate to integrate with MLIR Compiler stack written in C++.
• Participate in open source communities such as Chisel and LLVM CIRCT.
