Job summary

Oneida Health is seeking an experienced Outpatient Coder Level II to ensure accurate coding of outpatient services, optimize revenue capture, and maintain regulatory compliance. This role supports the Revenue Integrity team and collaborates with clinicians to resolve coding gaps.

The position offers a fully remote arrangement, with a focus on CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 accuracy, audits, and ongoing education for staff. AHIMA CCS or CPC certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years outpatient coding experience in a hospital setting.
• Thorough understanding of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems.
• Knowledge of outpatient billing processes and reimbursement methodologies.
• Proficient with Meditech or similar EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient services (surgical, emergency, oncology, and wound care) coding records and assign CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of coded information for billing and reimbursement.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines, regulations, and compliance for outpatient services.

Job Summary: Oneida Health is actively searching for a skilled Revenue Integrity Outpatient Coder Level II to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and compliant coding of outpatient services, optimizing revenue capture, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review outpatient services (primarily surgical, emergency, oncology, and wound care) medical records to assign appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of coded information for billing and reimbursement purposes.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines, regulations, and compliance requirements related to outpatient services.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve coding discrepancies and obtain additional documentation if necessary.
• Work closely with the Revenue Integrity team to identify and address coding-related issues affecting revenue cycle performance.
• Provide feedback and education to clinical and administrative staff on coding and documentation best practices.
• Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Keep abreast of changes in coding systems, reimbursement methodologies, and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of outpatient coding experience in a hospital setting, preferably with Meditech EHR.

Certifications:
