Job summary

Chiquita is seeking a Specialist Technical Services to provide technical support for Chiquita products and processes, including ripening center audits and lead ripening responsibilities. The role emphasizes collaboration across operations and customer facilities.

The candidate will support training, packing projects, and testing initiatives while ensuring shelf life optimization and customer satisfaction. Strong communication and travel readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or agriculture, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in produce operations/handling.
• Ability to lift produce boxes up to 52 lbs (typical 45 lbs) up to 40 times per day.
• Banana ripening/processing experience strongly preferred.
• Availability for frequent travel.
• Ability to collaborate across functions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support customer training in general and specialized handling of produce and specialty items across the supply chain.
• Provide produce management support for distribution centers, including forecasting, inventory control, and processing.
• Provide technical support for custom packing projects, new product rollouts, and test initiatives.
• Conduct customer ripening-room audits and publish analyses with corrective action plans.
• Step in as Lead or Support Ripener and manage inventory to achieve outbound color and pulp targets.
