Job summary

Stantec is seeking a highly motivated Right of Way / Utility Coordinator to support transportation and infrastructure projects in North Carolina. You will coordinate utility relocation, right-of-way acquisition, easement procurement, and entitlement activities with project managers, engineers, and landowners to keep projects moving.

The role requires strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills, plus experience with GIS and CAD tools and knowledge of NCDOT UBO standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma; bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum four years of experience in utility coordination or related field.
• Active Real Estate License required.
• Notary Public designation preferred; or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Advanced knowledge of utility relocation processes, right-of-way procedures, and land rights acquisition practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate utility relocation and liaise with engineers, utility owners, regulators, and landowners.
• Review plans to identify utility conflicts and develop coordination strategies.
• Communicate schedules, milestones, and updates to utility companies and stakeholders.
• Prepare relocation packages, encroachment agreements, and other project documents.
• Support development of utility construction plans and UB0 standards per NCDOT.
• Conduct land rights research and coordinate title opinions as needed.
• Maintain organized project documentation and attend meetings with stakeholders.
• Utilize GIS, mapping tools, and CAD to support research and project development.
