HF Sinclair is seeking a Right of Way Representative; this position is remote. In this role, you will acquire and maintain the necessary property rights for the installation, operation, and maintenance of HF Sinclair Midstream’s pipeline assets. Leads multiple projects or areas of projects. Investigates and resolves disputes resulting from property trespass, encroachments, and damage claims. Ensures easement documents are captured in right of way database and other document systems.

Job Duties
  • Negotiates highly complex easements and agreements on various types of properties
  • Negotiates with external clients and agencies (landowners, government agencies, and legal entities) for new easements, temporary work space, and mitigating encroachments within Company’s Rights of Way
  • Collaborates with leaders in the creation and completion of project estimates
  • Compiles and examines documents and information, conducting follow-up, and completing forms to provide support to senior managers and attorneys.
  • Researches, analyzes, and evaluates property rights, property values, and other land related issues
  • Responds to property issues and requests from internal and external customers
  • Advocate for and educate the general public regarding pipeline safety
  • Work closely with landowners and the general public on pipeline related projects and repairs
  • Assist Manager and other departments personnel with corporate projects and initiatives
  • Reviews and prepare documents such as licenses, agreements, easements, permits, and renewals
  • Represents the company as the first point of contact with landowners, local government, and the general public
  • Reviews and manages data in company database relating to rights acquired for placement of company facilities
  • May lead less experience Right of Way Agents
  • Tracks permitting time lines

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years related right of way and pipeline operations experience is required.

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree is required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

A Bachelor's Degree in real estate, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.

Required Skills

Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop positive relationships with customers, resolve property-related disputes, and to work effectively with team members. Advanced computer skills and knowledge of customized software. Detail oriented. Knowledge of right of way principles, federal, state and other agency permit requirements. Ability to understand and evaluate right of way, easement, and other property-related documents, legal descriptions, and maps. Research, analysis, and evaluation skills in order to gather data on market values and placement of company facilities on property. Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.

Work Conditions

Office and field based with up to 50% travel by land and air is required. Out-of-door environment and driver based environment, including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, and tanks. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.
