Job description

Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Right of Way Representative; this position is remote. In this role, you will acquire and maintain the necessary property rights for the installation, operation, and maintenance of HF Sinclair Midstream's pipeline assets. You will lead multiple projects or areas of projects, investigate and resolve disputes resulting from property trespass, encroachments, and damage claims, and ensure easement documents are properly captured in right of way database and other document systems.

Job Duties
  • Negotiate highly complex easements and agreements on various types of properties.
  • Negotiate with external clients and agencies (landowners, government agencies, legal entities) for new easements, temporary work space, and resolving encroachments within the company's rights of way.
  • Collaborate on project estimates with team leaders.
  • Compile, examine documents, conduct follow-ups, and complete forms to support senior managers and attorneys.
  • Research, analyze, and evaluate property rights, property values, and land-related issues.
  • Respond to property issues and requests from internal and external customers.
  • Advocate for and educate the public regarding pipeline safety.
  • Work closely with landowners and the public on pipeline projects and repairs.
  • Assist managers and other departments with corporate projects and initiatives.
  • Review and prepare documents such as licenses, agreements, easements, permits, and renewals.
  • Represent the company as the first point of contact with landowners, local government, and the public.
  • Manage data related to rights acquired for facilities in company databases.
  • May lead less experienced Right of Way Agents.
  • Track permitting timelines.
Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant right of way and pipeline operations experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience is required.

Preferred Education: A Bachelor's Degree in real estate, Business Administration, or related field.

Required Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, advanced computer skills, knowledge of right of way principles, legal document evaluation, and land-related research skills are essential.

Work Conditions

Office and field work with up to 50% travel, including outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
