Job summary

City of Marathon is seeking skilled Street Maintenance Technicians to operate trucks and light repair equipment, mow roadside and public areas, and perform routine maintenance across city properties.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED with at least three years in grounds maintenance; MOT certification or CDL is preferred. A Florida driver’s license is required. May work nights, weekends, or respond to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Entry level: 2 years landscaping maintenance preferred.
• Proficient with riding mowers, weed eaters, pole saws, chainsaws, tractors, skid steers.
• Supervisory skills for crew leadership are required at Technician III.

Responsibilities

• Operates trucks and light maintenance equipment.
• Mows and trims roadside and public areas.
• Maintains city equipment and performs routine upkeep.
• Assists with hurricane preparedness and city maintenance.
• Shovels, cleans, and maintains city grounds and facilities.
