Job summary

Columbus Consolidated Government seeks a grounds maintenance worker for the Urban Forestry & Beautification Division. The role handles dirt removal from roads, mowing, planting, seeding, and landscaping, ensuring clean rights of way and parks.

You will direct traffic during road work and spread mulch, seeds, and fertilizer as needed. Responsibilities include loading materials, maintaining equipment, and assisting in fleet yard upkeep.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of grounds maintenance principles and techniques.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used for landscaping.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Sufficient experience to understand basic principles relevant to duties.

Responsibilities

• Remove dirt and debris from roads and maintain rights of way.
• Maintain landscaping, mowing, planting, seeding; plant grass and shrubs.
• Direct traffic around work sites during road repairs and spread mulch/seed.
• Load and unload materials; clean and maintain equipment and fleet yard.
• Assist in improving operations and customer-driven service.
