Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. in Liberty, NC is seeking a skilled Rigger for a hands-on role on an industrial project. You will select rigging gear, attach equipment to overhead structures, and direct Crane Operators to safely hoist and move loads.

The job requires setup of hoisting equipment, rope/wire work, and strong adherence to safety and quality procedures. Ability to travel may be required; a valid safety training record is expected.

Qualifications

• Essential communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Safety and general job training completed as required by SIC.
• Adherence to SIC and customer safety and quality procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to load size and weight.
• Attach pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures using bolts and clamps.
• Attach load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Provide clear directions to Crane Operator to ensure safe hoisting and movement of loads.
• Set up and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
• Coordinate movement of equipment and materials based on signals and directions.
• Apply safety standards and recognize hazardous conditions.
• Maintain regular attendance and readiness to travel as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
