Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking skilled riggers to join our team on job sites in the surrounding area. Travel is required.

You will work with cables, pulleys, and hoisting equipment, ensuring safety and accurate rigging. Candidates should have solid communication skills and complete required safety training.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Completed all required SIC safety and general job training.
• Commitment to observing SIC and customer safety and quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to load size.
• Attach pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
• Attach load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Give directions to Crane Operator to ensure safety using hand signals or radio.
• Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment with hand tools and wrenches.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
• Coordinate movement of equipment according to signals and directions.
• Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked.
• Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Significant travel may be required.
• Performs other duties as required.
