Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Rigging Helpers to work from our Raleigh, NC office on various job sites in the surrounding area. Must be willing to travel. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3 months.

Tasks include selecting and attaching rigging hardware, guiding the Crane Operator, and setting up hoisting equipment. Must follow safety and quality procedures and communicate effectively with teammates.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow safety protocols and job training as required by SIC.
• Must communicate clearly with crane operators and co-workers.
• Strong attention to safety and quality procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves based on load weight and size.
• Attach pulleys and blocks to overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
• Secure loads with grappling devices to crane hooks.
• Provide clear direction to Crane Operator using signals or comms for safe lifting.
• Set up, brace and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Splice rope and wire to make or repair slings and tackles.
• Coordinate equipment and material movement according to signals.
• Record information using standard measurements.
• Detect dangerous conditions and respond to them promptly.
• Maintain regular attendance; travel may be required.
• Perform other duties as required.
