Job summary

Sound Image in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a System Designer and Estimator Rigging to support Sales and Engineering in design and estimation of fully functional lighting systems. The role translates customer requirements from RFPs into BOMs, quotes, and narratives, collaborating with engineering, operations, and installation teams to ensure accurate, install-ready documentation.

Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of performance rigging and scenic systems with 5 years of related design/installation experience.
Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and/or REVIT; experience with SketchUp.
Strong ability to interpret RFPs, site surveys, and bid documents to produce accurate proposals.
Excellent written and verbal communication and collaborative teamwork.
Ownership and use of a smartphone for app-based communication platforms.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret functional requirements and site survey information.
Read and interpret RFP documentation for proposals.
Collaborate with Salesperson to identify best solutions meeting client needs and budget.
Author bills of materials, quotes, and narratives documenting the proposed solution.
Organize BOMs and narratives for client and CSI Engineering/Operations teams.
