Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in erecting and operating machines to hoist and convey machinery and equipment.
• Display crew leadership and provide direction to crew members.
• Specify locations for movement and erection of derricks, hoists, and cranes based on equipment capabilities.
• Direct workers in splicing ropes and metal cables to form hoisting slings.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders relevant to supervision area.
• Maintain time records and enforce safety regulations.
• Coordinate movement of equipment and materials per signals and directions.
• Identify and address dangerous conditions or situations and perform safety inspections.
