Position Summary

Plan, lay-out and install all necessary rigging components for lifting and installing equipment, machinery, pipe, steel, etc., in accordance with all plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities And Duties

• Set up and rig large-scale heavy equipment.
• Position, align, or level machines, equipment, and structures.
• Shakeout items to be installed into erectable sequence and rigging for crane hoisting, using a thorough knowledge of crane signals.
• Guide rigged items into position using a tag line.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed for work activities.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance, point out deficiencies, and take corrective actions.
• Select rigging components and develop basic rigging procedures for load handling.
• Identify suitable rigging points and select rated rigging based on tension.
• Maintain understanding of LHE dynamics and hazards.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Advanced Journeyman Rigger in powerplant/industrial settings.
• Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for the position.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
• Proficient with electrical, hand, power, layout, and measurement tools.
• Experience rigging under crane hooks with large bore heavy wall pipe.
• Experience bullrigging large bore heavy wall pipe in pipe racks.

Requirements

• Ability to move about construction/industrial sites, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
• NCCER or NCCCO Advanced Rigging Certifications.
• NCCER or NCCCO Signal Person designation.
• Ability to climb and work on ladders, scaffolds, and platforms exceeding 200 feet.
• Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven spaces.
• Minimum 5 years of experience.
• Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Pass bullrigging qualification tests and other safety and medical checks.
• Comply with safety and project rules.
• Pass pre-access drug, alcohol testing, medical, and background checks.
