Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks a qualified Rigger for a project in Lebanon, Indiana. The role involves selecting, rigging, and moving loads safely and directing Crane Operators to maintain safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Clear written and verbal communication required.
• Safety and general job training completed per SIC.
• Follow SIC and customer safety and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load.
• Attach pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
• Attach load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Direct Crane Operator via hand signals, loudspeaker, or phone to ensure safety.
• Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
• Coordinate movement of equipment and materials by signals.
• Rate information using measurable standards.
• Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Significant travel may be required.
• Performs other duties as required.
