Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Rigger at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI. The role involves heavy lifting, rigging, and movement of loads related to submarine construction, with opportunities for training and career growth.

The position requires readiness to work outdoors and indoors, in varying weather, and to operate or learn overhead and mobile cranes after training. A safety-focused mindset and reliable teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or relevant technical experience.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in indoor and outdoor lifting and handling of heavy loads.
• Operate and learn crane and handling gear under supervision.
• Use rigging equipment including straps, cables, chains, slings, blocks, and booms.
• Work at heights and in confined spaces, with overtime as needed.
• Communicate with crane operators using hand signals to perform lifts safely.
