Job summary

Qualifications

  • Rigging experience (3-6 months) in rigging operations.
  • Steel erection or structural fabrication experience preferred (1 year).
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards required.
  • In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Must meet physical requirements of the job.
  • Must have all required tools.
  • Able to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (up to 200 ft).
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Available to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and discuss a thorough Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to each task.
  • Maintain a positive attitude towards internal and external customer service.
  • Inspect and prepare loads that need to be moved.
  • Set, align, and level heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Select and prepare rigging gear including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
  • Ensure compliance with state and company safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the rigging and construction team.
  • Break down rigging equipment and conduct post-rigging inspections.
  • Assist equipment operators as needed.
  • Properly torque and rig equipment and machinery.
  • Direct crane operators on proper equipment placement.
  • Test installed machinery and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Perform hot bolt and torque procedures as required.
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project-specific rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
