Job Description:

LEAD Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Rigger for a project in Tampa, FL.

We are looking to hire a qualified rigger to set up and repair rigging for the movement of heavy parts and steel within the shipyard. As a rigger, you will be required to prepare materials before loading, set up rigging equipment, operate heavy machinery, and dismantle the rigging after the job. You will also communicate with the Crane Operator and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

To succeed as a rigger, you should have in-depth knowledge of rigging equipment, excellent spatial awareness, and good communication skills. A skilled rigger is meticulous with construction and always prioritizes safety on the site.

Rigger Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and prepare loads for movement.
  • Set, align, and level heavy equipment machinery.
  • Select appropriate rigging gear.
  • Prepare rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
  • Inspect rigging before use.
  • Monitor and maintain rigging equipment.
  • Move loads using heavy machinery and by hand.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Communicate with Crane Operators and rigging team.
  • Disassemble rigging equipment and conduct post-rigging inspections.
Rigger Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience as a rigger.
  • Minimum Level 1 NCCCO certification.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Familiarity with rigging equipment, heavy machinery, hand signals, and terminology.
  • Good hearing and vision.
  • Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions.
