Description

Summary: Ensures safety first. Assists the crane operator during crane operations, providing rigging and hand signals to ensure safe lifting. Loads and secures equipment (spreader bars, mats, counterweights, etc.), then drives the truck to the job site. Complies with all State and Federal laws while operating vehicles and adheres to safety and environmental policies on site.

Responsibilities

• Review upcoming job assignments at the end of each shift.
• Assist in proper setup of equipment with the crane operator.
• Assist in maintenance of crane and related equipment.
• Perform proper rigging techniques for safe lifting.
• Use correct hand signals during crane operations.
• Secure equipment properly before truck operation.
• Inspect truck and trailer; complete inspection reports before use.
• Report mechanical issues to supervisors or technicians.
• Monitor inventory of chains, straps, and related equipment; report shortages.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain chains, straps, and related gear.
• Document maintenance and repairs performed.
• Monitor and report on annual State inspections and license plates.
• Notify dispatcher upon completing a task for the next assignment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of rigging experience required.
• Commercial driving experience preferred.
• Advanced Rigger certification required.
