Position Description

Assemble rigging to lift and move equipment or materials on construction projects safely and efficiently, ensuring high quality standards.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves based on load weight and size.
  2. Position materials prior to lifting and determine their weight.
  3. Select appropriate rigging gear such as cables, straps, or chains, ensuring they are inspected and in good condition.
  4. Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
  5. Secure loads with grappling devices like loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hooks.
  6. Guide crane operators or hoisting engineers using hand signals, radios, or telephones to ensure safety.
  7. Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment using hand and power tools.
  8. Collaborate with erection teams to complete tasks.
  9. Tie various knots as required.
  10. Assemble and disassemble cranes.
  11. Maintain and inspect all rigging tools and equipment.
  12. Follow all safety and project rules diligently.
  13. Interpret engineer’s rigging plans accurately.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  1. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  2. At least 18 years old.
  3. Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand, and reach repeatedly.
  4. Capable of working in hot, cold, damp, or cramped environments.
  5. Availability for 40+ hours weekly, with potential weekend work.
  6. Ability to work at heights up to 200 feet.
  7. Background check and drug screening as required.
