Job Description

Texas Compression is a Houston-based mechanical and industrial services contractor servicing customers across Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. We are currently looking for experienced rig welders for upcoming projects. This candidate should have extensive experience with P1, P4, P5A, P8 & P15E material. Employee will be responsible for completing routine welding assignments with a clearly defined process.

Responsibilities
  • Follows all HSE policies and procedures.
  • Obtain daily permits and complete daily JSA/JHA.
  • Knowledge of basic rigging and lifting.
  • Read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
  • Capable of using different welding processes such as GTAW, SMAW, GMAW & FCAW.
  • Capable of using plasma cutter, torch, and arc gouging.
  • Ability to identify welding defects and self-QC.
  • Experience with hand, pneumatic, and power tools.
  • Must be able to work with the team.
  • Capable of completing safety, production, and quality control forms.
  • Capable of maintaining and operating welding machines.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Requires operation of heavy equipment such as manlifts, forklifts, or telehandlers on occasion.
  • Requires employee to use a computer, smartphone, and other office equipment such as copiers and printers.
Education, Skills, and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED Required.
  • Must be fluent in English (Speak, Read & Write).
  • Required to pass P1 and P15E tests in 6G position.
  • Minimum 5 years of Vessel, Tube, and/or Pipe Welding experience.
  • Must have experience reading and understanding P&ID's & blueprints.
  • Must be capable of reading, interpreting, and executing a weld procedure.
  • Requires employee to stand for at least 90% of the day.
  • Requires constant movement in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
  • Requires employee to frequently inspect equipment, climb stairs or ladders, and must be able to maintain balance.
  • Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers in the event of an emergency.
  • Requires work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
  • Requires work in a non-climate-controlled facility.
  • Requires work in loud environments.
Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Clear Drug Screen, Clear Background Screen & Clear Driving Record.
  • Basic+ & TWIC (Required) OSHA 10 or 30.
  • Position may require travel, and employee may be required to drive their own vehicle.
  • Position requires employee to wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, hard hat, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, and steel-toed boots, where applicable.
