Job Responsibilities

• Perform MIG horizontal and downhill welding throughout the department during regular operating hours.
• Weld components such as container units, cabinets, drawers, doors, and other parts as assigned.
• Use electric, acetylene, and arc-air welding equipment.
• Evaluate and coordinate welding needs and repairs.
• Maintain machinery, tools, and work areas, ensuring good housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions and solve problems based on standardized situations.
• Good communication skills with supervisors and co-workers.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds, including odd-shaped items.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Willingness to undergo additional training related to job duties.

Physical Demands

• Majority of tasks (90%) performed indoors, with exposure to environmental and weather changes.
• Climb and work at heights over 5 feet.
• Stand for extended periods (up to 80%).
• Perform tasks requiring alertness and coordination, especially during welding.

Schedule

• 8 to 10 hours per day, 40 to 50 hours per week, sometimes more.
• Half-hour lunch break.
• Sitting 20% of the time in awkward positions; standing 80% of the time.
