Job summary

Precision Drilling is seeking a skilled field service technician in Houston, TX. You will perform maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, and conduct diagnostics to ensure optimal operation.

You’ll document work orders, follow safety policies, and support continuous improvements in service delivery. The role requires on-site presence Monday to Friday with on-call availability, lifting capabilities, and a technical background in engineering-related fields.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate from vocational/technical school, and/or an associate’s/bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Basic computer navigation skills.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, and Background Check.
• Lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Be available for 24-hour on-call to the field when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and mechanical/electrical/hydraulic repairs on equipment, including generators, transmissions, pumps, and drivetrains, in-shop and in remote field locations.
• Diagnose defects, conduct performance testing, and ensure repaired equipment meets operational standards.
• Maintain documentation, including work orders, time sheets, and safety reports, while complying with safety policies and regulations.
• Respond to on-call field service needs, work independently under pressure, and adapt to flexible schedules and travel requirements.
• Communicate effectively within a team, report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly, and contribute to continuous improvement in operations and customer service.

Day In The Life
