Job summary

Carowinds is seeking a Ride Operator to join the Ride Operations team. The role involves ensuring rides operate safely and efficiently, testing equipment daily, enforcing policies, and assisting with loading and unloading for all guests. You will communicate clearly, manage crowd flow, and keep queues safe while delivering an engaging guest experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test as required by policy.
• Good judgement and a commitment to safety.
• Ability to work with guests and team members from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Test equipment daily before opening the ride to guests.
• Enforce park policies, ride restrictions and ride recommendations.
• Restrict the number of guests on the loading platform to match seating capacity.
• Ensure safe operation of the ride and orderly queue lines.
• Assist with loading and unloading of the ride, including children and guests with disabilities.
• Verify safety restraints and belts before motion.
• Answer guest questions and resolve complaints as needed.
• Measure heights and issue wristbands as required.
• Record hourly ride capacity and cycles.
• Give ride directions and spiels using a microphone.
