Carowinds is seeking an Area Manager of Rides to guarantee safe and efficient operation of all park attractions. This role leads talent hiring and day-to-day management in collaboration with another Rides Area Manager, reporting to the Rides Manager.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years in Ride Operations with strong leadership, budgeting, and guest-service focus. The role requires flexibility for nights, weekends and holidays, with a driver’s license and IRT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of related experience in Ride Operations preferred.
• IRT Certified Instructor license preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and direct managerial staff.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and controls resources of the Rides department, budgeting and operating within guidelines.
• Reviews all operating guidelines for rides/attractions to ensure policy compliance.
• Monitors ride operations and safety procedures, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Recruits, hires and trains part-time and seasonal staff to maintain staffing levels.
• Supervises seasonal management staff and coordinates activities.
• Orders and manages supplies, monitors expenses and vendor relations.
• Responds to guest feedback and enforces park policies to ensure service quality.
