Job summary

Six Flags in the United States seeks a Ride Control Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, program, and modify control and safety systems for park rides. You will work on PLC platforms, safety circuits, drive systems, and field devices, ensuring regulatory compliance and safe operation.

Responsibilities include supporting legacy and current control platforms, developing HMI interfaces, and performing preventive maintenance with documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or accredited program in electronics/industrial controls.
• Minimum two years programming and troubleshooting PLCs in an industrial setting.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley platforms (PLC-5, SLC 500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix).
• Experience with industrial networks: EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-Interface.
• Experience with SCADA platform configuration/maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic.
• Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 72 relevant to control and life-safety systems.
• Ability to work independently on safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Program, maintain, troubleshoot, and modify ride control programs on Allen-Bradley platforms and Siemens STEP 7.
• Configure and maintain safety-rated control systems and I/O.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot HMI applications and operator interfaces.
• Maintain control system drawings, schematics, and documentation; document changes.
• Perform ride inspections and support other maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
